List of Current Social Issues and Social Problems

List of Current Social Issues and Social ProblemsIt is amazing how many lists of current social issues and social problems have been created over the years. It seems like a never-ending process with people creating as many lists as they can think of.But what exactly is a social issue? How are people getting them and then defining them in terms that other people will understand? And why does it seem like so many lists exist of these issues, and then they are all different from each other?Well, first of all, we should define what a social issue actually is - an issue that is causing some sort of discontent among people - regardless of whether it is a religious or political issue. It may be a labor-related issue, an environmental issue, a business issue, or a racial issue, etc.The next thing to consider is if a current social problem can be considered a current social issue. Obviously, there are some things that are more 'current' than others. But I guess you could say that the situatio n in Ferguson, Missouri was 'current' since it was getting lots of press, but it also seems to me like a sad situation for those young men involved. You will notice that each list of current social issues and social problems will be very similar in its content. Each will list the problem, then list the social issues that might be affecting the problem, then list the causes and effects of the social issues, and finally offer a solution alternatives. However, if you look at a one such list, it seems like all it will offer is a solution. In this case, a solution that seems to address the problem, but doesn't really make much of a difference for the people who are experiencing the problem. Or if it does offer a solution, the solutions that it offers are too hard to implement, and it doesn't fix the problem at all.If you want to help solve the problem, you should be asking yourself: Why are people creating these lists of current social issues and social problems? After all, these questions may seem silly, right? After all, isn't everyone having some kind of social issue?Well, what happens is people start creating lists of current social issues and social problems. They don't necessarily create these lists with the intent of addressing a social issue or problem, but they realize that something needs to be done. So they make lists of current social issues and social problems and try to come up with solutions that they can implement on a more organized level.
